You can expect a home study program that is streamlined and easy to follow. At NHHSA℠, we are known for our ability to adapt a program that fits the needs of the student. We clearly understand that education is not a one-size-fits-all proposition, and our years of professional experience help make your home schooling endeavors efficient, academically sound and functionally effective. Enrollment in the NHHSA HomeWork Program℠ is comparable to enrollment in a private school with the added advantage of having the student study in the safety and distraction-free comfort of her/his own home. You can expect to:
Receive a syllabus of study comprising a full month's worth of assignments customized to both suit your student's scholastic level and the state's requirements for course completion. You will continue to receive these monthly syllabi in a timely manner as long as your student remains in good standing with our academy and tuition fees are paid.
Receive the textbooks and/or worksheets requisite to your student's syllabus of study at no extra cost from normal registration and tuition fees.
Be able to consult with the program director and/or the NHHSA Director regarding your student's current progress and future academic direction.
Receive at your request a "Parent Handbook for Successful Home Schooling," giving you a host of recommendations to help you optimize your family's home schooling experience.
Be kept informed of your student's grades and academic progress. Student Progress Reports are emailed (or mailed, depending on your preference) within a month of your student's completion of her/his first study syllabus, and monthly thereafter upon completion of each subsequent syllabus.
Have remedial studies available for your student when standard study curriculum is beyond the scope of your student's successful completion.
Receive, upon your request, psychological course work if your student is struggling with emotional or disciplinary issues such as low self-esteem, anger, social anxiety, poor social skills, and the like.
Receive, upon your request, English as a Second Language (ESL) course work when a grasp of the English language is a barrier to successful study.
Have official school records kept on your student's behalf, and have these transferred to another public or private institution, college or university upon your request.
Make it possible to have your student complete more than one grade level in a scholastic year by enrolling her/him in the NHHSA FastTrack Program℠ when her/his abilities and GPA merit.
Have your student receive her/his High School Graduation Diploma (issued in the State of Texas) within four to six weeks of your student's completion of all academic requirements, as determined by our academy, state statutes, and in accordance with the Texas Educational Agency's recommendations for the Distinguished Achievement High School Program.
You should not expect to have to "decode" the material to make it understandable for your student. Essentially, your student should be able to get right to work once the first syllabus is received.
Unless your student is in 1st or 2nd grade, you should not expect to have to constantly intervene in to answer questions about her/his study assignments unless, of course, you choose to. Assignments are given in a sequential order for every course of study listed on the syllabus. Most students can follow the instructions given with ease, and any questions that do arise can be addressed with a quick telephone call to our administrative offices.
